在這里學(xué)什么?
The informatics program integrates principles of computer science, information systems and design, psychology, and sociology in a curriculum tailor-made for the next generation of computing professionals, while allowing students to select an area of specialization where informatics knowledge will be applied, such as biology, human-computer interaction, or new media. Informatics students develop groundbreaking IT solutions with real-world value in business, health care, science, art, and entertainment.
Informatics is smart computing going beyond hardware and software. Informatics thinks big picture, building strong technical skills as well as understanding how we use technology to communicate, work, heal, play, and solve problems that are facing society and industry. It is a way to make a difference in the lives of others, so the focus of the program is on the social impact of computing - how people and technology connect.
Informatics majors learn to critically analyze various approaches to processing information and develop skills to design, implement, and evaluate the next generation of information technology tools. As a student in the Undergraduate Informatics program, you will use your knowledge to develop ground-breaking IT solutions with real-world value in business, health care, science, art, and entertainment.
