Exercise science majors receive a broad education that covers anatomy, physiology, chemistry, physics, biomechanics, exercise physiology, and nutrition and fitness testing, preparing them for professional school or the fitness area. Students wanting to go on to become physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, or other health care professionals follow the preprofessional plan of study, which covers all the prerequisites necessary to be an excellent candidate for applications to professional school.
Exercise science is the study of human health, wellness, and movement. You'll explore the boundaries of what the human body can do through research, internships, and real-life, hands-on experience in the field.
Our exercise science graduates have applied their training to help solve the nation's growing health issues, such as diabetes and obesity. Many continue to graduate or professional schools, on their way to becoming physical therapists, physician assistants, and occupational therapists.
The exercise science plan of study will lead to a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. It is designed to meet the needs of students who wish to pursue careers in a corporate/community fitness setting; a graduate degree in exercise science, biomechanics, occupational therapy, or physical therapy; or a career in a related health/wellness field. There are three categories of requirements in this program: (1) kinesiology; (2) general education; and (3) electives.
The exercise science track will prepare you for high-demand, entry-level careers in the health and sports fields. Here's a short list of opportunities available to exercise science graduates:

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have completed or will complete secondary school by the time of enrollment; No grade point average guarantees admission to IUPUI. We look for applicants who have demonstrated a "B" average or above average grades, with strong grades in math and science. TOEFL (iBT) – 60; IELTS – 5.5; IUPUI Program for Intensive English (PIE) score of Level 5; GCSE or GCE O Level in English language score of Grades A-C; International Baccalaureate score of Higher Level English A1 or A2 Certificate, grade of 4 or higher; Freshman English Composition Course score of "C" grade or higher (equivalent to IUPUI W131) from a regionally accredited U.S. University.
