The B.F.A. in visual communication design is a professional undergraduate degree for students desiring theoretical and studio experience with an emphasis in design. Students in the program develop critical thinking skills, refine their intellectual and creative processes, and learn contemporary aspects of design and design thinking. The program prepares design leaders to proactively manage change and innovate processes toward improving the civic, cultural, and commercial experiences that people encounter in their daily lives. The program focuses on a collaborative design process for identifying root problems and facilitating meaningful solutions to complex issues. This approach is intended to harness the power of design to clarify, humanize, and energize the issues that are central to life in a pluralistic society.
The Herron Visual Communication Design program has long been committed to empowering students to see the world differently, to shape their own futures, and to harness the potential for design to do well.
When a variety of people bring their insights to the table, design solutions are more creative, more innovative, and more meaningful. Successful students achieve all the learning outcomes defined by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (Herron's accrediting body) and AIGA (the professional association for design) as essential competencies for design professionals.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants must have completed or will complete secondary school by the time of enrollment; No grade point average guarantees admission to IUPUI. We look for applicants who have demonstrated a "B" average or above average grades, with strong grades in math and science. TOEFL (iBT) – 60; IELTS – 5.5; IUPUI Program for Intensive English (PIE) score of Level 5; GCSE or GCE O Level in English language score of Grades A-C; International Baccalaureate score of Higher Level English A1 or A2 Certificate, grade of 4 or higher; Freshman English Composition Course score of "C" grade or higher (equivalent to IUPUI W131) from a regionally accredited U.S. University.
