Exercise scientists improve the health, performance and participation of individuals, teams and athletes through exercise programming and delivery, athlete training, and health advice. Psychological science explores how the mind works, and why people behave the way they do. Combined, you will be well prepared to help clients reach peak performance.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Psychological Science /Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science will complete a sequence in psychology that is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). This sequence will ensure graduates acquire an advanced understanding of human behaviour, as well as highly regarded employability skills.
Professional experience
In the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, students are required to complete 140 hours of appropriate professional experience (practicum) with accurate record-keeping, as part of course accreditation requirements.
Professional recognition
(a) Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation: This new degree has 'qualifying accreditation' status with Exercise & Sports Science Australia for the Strathfield and Melbourne campuses. This is the first step towards a full accreditation application at the Exercise Science level for graduates in the program from 2019. (Full accreditation also means that the course is approved as providing the appropriate knowledge and skills to enter our postgraduate Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology course).

Ranks on the GCE are calculated on the basis that at the Advanced Level (A2): A=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, and must include results in minimum of two advanced Level (A2) and up to two (2) at Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) subjects. AS Level subject is half of that assigned at Advanced Level (A2) – A=3, A=2.5, B=2, C=1.5, D=1, E=0.5. Subjects at Advanced Level (A2) must be taken in the same academic year. AS Level subjects may be taken in the same or previous academic year. A subject taken at both AS Level and Advanced Level is only counted once for aggregate score. Applicants must have must have the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 Certificate. English Language Requirements: Overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with an individual score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; 5.5 in listening and reading); Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 with a minimum of 50 in writing and speaking and a minimum of 42 in reading and listening; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 60: minimum 21 in writing, 18 in speaking, 8 in reading and 7 in listening; ACU English Language Test: C (60-64%); Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE of 169 (Minimum score of 169 in writing and speaking and 162 in listening and reading).
