This program offers preparation if you are planning to enter the community college/higher education field as a faculty member or if you already have experience and wish to prepare yourself for greater leadership responsibilities. This program is also appropriate if you have an unusual combination of teaching interests and wish to qualify yourself to teach or assume leadership roles in the community college.
Careers
If you're ready to take the next step towards leading in a community college, university, business or public or private organization, the master's program in educational leadership with an emphasis on community colleges/higher education might be the key to advancing your career.
This emphasis builds on the seminal and contemporary scholarship and skills necessary for leaders to shape key decisions and policies by inspiring and transforming teams to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s institutions and organizations. Students will advance their knowledge, written/oral communication, digital nimbleness, and innovative skills to make this degree useful and applicable to both professional and personal environments.
With further education, one of these paths is possible: Educational consultant; Community college and university staff, faculty, or administrative leadership positions; Entrepreneur in adult teaching and learning environments; Leader in training and development departments; Leader in public, social, health, government offices and agencies.
