The MEd in Elementary Education is designed for individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of children. Graduates of the program will receive a Professional Educator License (PEL) with an elementary endorsement.
This is a full-time field-based program designed for individuals who are just entering the teaching field and require an initial teaching license. An integral component of our teacher preparation program is classroom experience. This allows students to be involved in guided observations, interviewing students, teachers, parents, and community members, conducting small group or whole class instruction, and engaging with formal and informal educational communities.

- Gain extensive deep experiences engaging with diverse populations, including students with special needs and those labeled as English language learners (all graduates are eligible for ESL endorsement).
Curriculum
MEd in Elementary Education
Completion of the MEd degree program in Elementary Education requires 44 semester hours. A capstone project that consist of a self-study research project around a problem of practice is completed during student teaching. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates are eligible for an Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsements in elementary education and an English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) endorsement.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 The Graduate School welcomes applications from international students who have completed a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent. TOEFL, a minimum score of 79 on the iBT or a 550 on the written test is required. IELTS, a minimum score of 6.0 is required. PTE, a minimum score of 53 is required.
