If you have a desire to guide clients to reach their financial goals and counsel them with a focus on developing sound personal finance principles, the Family and Financial Planning and Counseling concentration offers you a great opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue your professional aspirations.
In addition to offering an enhanced perspective to train you in how to help others reduce their debt, build an emergency fund, develop a budget, and many other important skills, the coursework will also prepare you to sit for the CFP certification exam. By studying consumer sciences, you will develop a holistic approach to financial planning that focuses on improving individual and family quality of life through effective use of resources and informed consumer behavior.
This 120 semester hour program includes General Education requirements, 6 hours HES requirements, Major requirements, Family Financial Planning & Counseling requirements, and electives.
