The Master of Marine Science and Management is a joint degree between UNSW and three Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) partner universities. It takes you beyond traditional courses to address new approaches to marine science, including information systems and remotely sensed data analysis, the impact and use of marine science on management in the marine and coastal zones. You will also learn about coastal management and engineering, climate change, marine ecology and conservation, physical oceanography and modelling. This is a 12- to 18-month degree depending on prior learning, and you will have the option to complete three courses at partner universities.

This degree is multidisciplinary and cross-institutional, giving you access to a comprehensive set of approaches and methods unique in Marine Science and Management. This degree really develops and stretches your numerical skills with excel, R and matlab toolboxes.
