專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么？ Prosthetists and orthotists deal with the assessment, diagnosis and management of the whole of the body. Prosthetists provide artificial limbs (prostheses) to people who have all or part of a natural limb missing. Orthotists provide supportive braces and splints (orthoses) to people with various conditions of the limbs or spine. Prosthetists and orthotists work with people of all ages and with different requirements.On the course you will learn how to assess, diagnose and treat people requiring prosthetic and orthotic care. The strong practical emphasis will be taught in conjunction with relevant theory and background information.This course offers the opportunity to learn through placements in prosthetic and orthotic clinics across the country. As you move through the course, you will gradually require a greater depth of learning and increased competency in dealing with people, meeting their needs and deciding on the most effective treatment to offer.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants with a graduation certificate from a specialised college or school (zhongzhuan) with a final grade of 60% or above will be considered for the International Foundation Year. Applicants who have completed the huikao (senior secondary school) with a final grade of 60% or above will also be considered. Applicants who have completed three full years of high school and hold a senior secondary school graduation certificate with an overall minimum grade of 60% will be considered for undergraduate study. Applicants who hold a dazhaun qualification with a score of 60% or above will be considered for advanced entry on relevant undergraduate programmes if appropriate modules have been studied. Applicants who have achieved ACC/BCC/BC in graded units on their SQA-HND programme will be considered for final year entry on selected undergraduate business programmes. We require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
