A master’s degree in Chemical Engineering is the gateway to diverse fields such as biotechnology, energy systems engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, environmental technology, specialty chemicals and polymer processing. Students work closely with professors on cutting-edge research in areas such as bioengineering and biomaterials, catalysis and reactions, computing and simulation, energetic materials and combustion, environmental systems, membrane science and technology microfluidics, particle engineering, and pharmaceutical engineering.
Program Objectives
The program is focused on the advanced understanding of the fundamentals of chemical engineering, including thermodynamics, kinetics and transport phenomena. Students are provided additional exposure to the fields of research in the department, including materials and polymer processing, biotechnologies, membrane technologies, pharmaceutical engineering and materials for energy. Graduates will be prepared for leadership roles as chemical engineers or engineering managers supervising both existing and emerging processes in industry. They will also be well equipped for advancing their career in research and development.
