專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么？ Social Work is a broad ranging career, providing assistance and support to a variety of vulnerable people in society. It will involve working with those on the margins of society and across the spectrum in terms of age, gender, ethnicity and, to some extent, class. Social workers are found in a variety of settings from Hospitals, Local Authorities and voluntary organizations. There is a strong emphasis in the BA programme on critical reflection and problem solving with the full involvement of service users and practitioners from a variety of backgrounds and traditions. The BA programme prepare students for the realities of social work practice which can be both challenging and demanding, and also stimulating and exciting. This course combines formal university teaching and practical experience gained from both two placements in social care settings together and 30 skills days in the university. The programme is both academic and vocational and meets the requirements of the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). Success in this course can lead to registration with HCPC as a Social Worker.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 To apply for an undergraduate course at LSBU you need to have one of the following: Senior High School Graduation Certificate with a minimum of 70-80% (course specific requirements may apply); Chinese University / College Entrance Examination ('Gaokao') with a minimum of 350-400 in relevant subjects; Vocational College Diploma ('Gaozhi') diploma with average marks of 70% minimum; suitable UK Foundation course with a minimum of 60%; minimum English language requirements are as follows: IELTS 6.0 with all skills at 5.5 or above.
