This course responds to the global challenges that built environments face: changes in climate, technology, urbanisation, population dynamics and governance. These challenges require innovative leadership from built environment professionals in order to adapt appropriately. Our programme is designed to further develop students' knowledge and understanding of the science of buildings and the management of the construction process, in order to fulfil their professional duties in creating, improving and sustaining our built environment. It is designed to provide students with a programme that takes a holistic perspective of construction management processes and the global challenges facing the modern construction industry. This programme is suitable for recent graduates from construction and other related disciplines, looking to develop the technical knowledge and management skills required for a fast track career in the construction industry. It is also suited to experienced construction professionals who aspire to senior management positions in the UK and overseas. Additionally, the knowledge and skills students can develop on this programme open up opportunities to progress to MPhil/PhD research studies in the fields of construction science, construction technology, and construction management. Students will also achieve PGDip and PGCert.
The programme is designed around the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Education Framework, and the curriculum has been developed in collaboration with industry partners. The programme content is informed by state-of-the-art research carried out by academics across the School of Architecture and the Built Environment. The programme is offered as a one-year full-time modular course or two-year flexible modular course. Features: The Construction Science and Management programmes are supported by the School’s Professional Advisory Board (PAB) comprising prominent senior professionals from the Built Environment industry. Our industry connections enable us to ensure that our programmes are fit-for-purpose, future focused and industry relevant. Career and Personal Development: Construction is currently a significant growth industry in the UK and worldwide. In the UK, the construction sector is a fundamental part of the economy and is also a major source of employment. Mid-career professionals may find that this programme can provide a solid foundation for career progression to senior management positions in the global construction industry.

為來自中國的學生設計 Prospective students require one of the following qualifications: A Chinese degree from a recognised institution with a minimum average grade of 70% (GPA 2.5), some programmes may require 80% or a GPA 3.0; Successful completion of a UK Bachelor degree with a minimum grade of 2:2. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score). Some courses require a higher IELTS score.
