In this course, The School of History and Heritage offers advanced research opportunities in the subject of History. Doctoral students can benefit from academic expertise in Roman, Byzantine and medieval history; gender history; history and culture in the 19th Century; and British political history. As a research student, you will have access to support and training which aims to develop the practical and critical skills necessary for investigation and study at doctoral level. Regular research seminars aim to provide a stimulating environment in which to discuss and debate theoretical concepts with fellow students, scholars and visiting academics. Strong links exist with the Schools of Film and Media, English and Journalism, and Fine and Performing Arts. An interdisciplinary research culture facilitates collaboration with colleagues across a wide range of topics. Career and Personal Development: A doctoral qualification can be the capstone of academic achievement and often marks the beginning of a career in academia or research.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Prospective students require one of the following qualifications: A Chinese degree from a recognised institution with a minimum average grade of 70% (GPA 2.5), some programmes may require 80% or a GPA 3.0; Successful completion of a UK Bachelor degree with a minimum grade of 2:2. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score). Some courses require a higher IELTS score.
