Overview
Our MSc in Politics (Radical Political Theory) is established upon a firm foundation of research-led teaching, blended learning methods and expertise driven insights, as well as a clear commitment to guiding and supporting your development at postgraduate level.
The course will provide you with the opportunity to gain both comprehensive conceptual knowledge and an indispensable practical understanding of research and practice in the area of radical politics.
You will tackle ‘big issues’ with confidence and curiosity, equipping you for career paths in local, national, and international arenas thanks to innovative modules and a thesis in an area that you are interested in.

An MSc in Politics (Radical Political Theory) will provide you with a wide knowledge base, allowing you to command both the organising principles and nuanced specifics of research and practice in contemporary politics.
This innovative and relevant degree will equip you with a refined understanding of politics as a whole, as well as the role and application of your Radical Political Theory specialism.
In order to complete this demanding degree, you will develop your ability to thoroughly and expertly use a wide range of sources and forms of information to critically assess contemporary politics, its various distributions of power and influence, and forms of authority and governance.
Throughout the year, you will be provided with curriculum-based expertise informed by the research activities and policy specialisms of the staff. This promotes a depth of intellectual inquiry and a practical quality to the debate amongst other students within and beyond the classroom, which you will subsequently convert into concise and clearheaded thinking in future roles. You will also emerge with the tools to operate in a culturally and socially sensitive learning and working environment.

For programmes requiring a 2:2: A minimum final grade of 70% or equivalent; A minimum final grade of 65% or equivalent from one of the 211 universities. For postgraduate entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands or equivalent.
