Our academics in the fields of science, information technology and engineering are engaged in research across a diverse range of areas from fundamental science to industrial applications. With cutting-edge facilities and working with a rich interdisciplinary community of scientists, technicians and researchers, our PhD students enjoy a vibrant environment in which to develop their ideas and to pursue innovation that has a positive impact at regional, national and international levels.
Recently completed or current PhD student theses:
Tools to optimise pig in vitro production: improving sperm morphometrics, oocyte vitrification and embryo culture; Genetic analysis in diverse ecotypes of Arabidopsis thaliana; Understanding the epigenetics of alternative splicing in Arabidopsis thaliana; Natural genetic factors associated with alpha-synuclein pathology in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans; Understanding the shining ramshorn snail, Segmentina nitida: morphology, genetics; Investigating pheromone monitoring for UK moths of conservation interest; Natural variation in lifespan and stress responses in Caenorhabditis elegans; A study of the structure and biological activity of the Eranthis hyemalis type II ribosome inactivating protein; Maternal effects in parasitic nematodes: evidence, relevance and importance.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Bachelor degree (Xueshi); For programmes requiring a 2:1 : A minimum final grade of 75% or equivalent; A minimum final grade of 70% or equivalent from one of the 211 universities. For programmes requiring a 2:2: A minimum final grade of 70% or equivalent; A minimum final grade of 65% or equivalent from one of the 211 universities. For postgraduate entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands or equivalent.
