Whether you are a school-leaver or someone considering returning to study but don’t have the entry requirements for your chosen subject, a foundation year course may be just what you’re looking for.A foundation year is the first year of a four year programme which:?provides an introduction not only to study at University but also to your chosen subject?offers you a highly supportive environment where you can develop the self-confidence, knowledge, skills and understanding for further study.Our foundation year enables you to enter our BA Primary Education course even if you don’t have the formal qualifications or experience to meet the entry requirements. Christ Church University was founded as a teaching college over 50 years ago. By joining this course you will be studying one of our flagship degree courses through which we’ll support you in achieving qualified teacher status. Our BA in Primary Education is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to become a generalist classroom teacher. You’ll learn about every aspect of teaching including child development and behaviour, the curriculum, planning and assessment and much more.School placements will ensure that by the time you have achieved newly qualified teacher status, you’ll be ready for an exciting career in an extremely rewarding profession.
