The curriculum leading to the Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.Ed.) in Secondary Education is designed for students preparing to teach in middle schools, junior high schools or senior high schools (grades 7-12). The program of studies for the Secondary Education major and licensure preparation has three components:

Professional Education Requirements
Students must meet with a College of Education Academic Advisor for initial consultation about their program, and their secondary faculty advisor throughout their program. The Secondary Education faculty advisor must approve enrollment into the professional licensure courses that are offered in a Fall/Spring sequence.

Career Opportunities:
A program that prepares individuals to teach students in the secondary grades, which may include grades seven through twelve, depending on the school system or state regulations. May include preparation to teach a comprehensive curriculum or specific subject matter.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Secondary Education: Completion of the equivalent of an American upper secondary school education (approximately twelve years of formal education beginning at age six) and have the appropriate diplomas or satisfactory results on leaving examinations (if completed). Academic Preparation: Strong academic preparation or a U.S. equivalent grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants) or 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (for transfer students with the equivalent of 24 college credit hours). TOEFL (internet-based) 68, TOEFL (paper-based) 520, IELTS 6.0, Pearson Test of English 47.
