Applied Mathematics Concentration
Applied Mathematics has a wide range of career trajectories. Works well as a second major.
Education Concentration
Math Education prepares students for teaching math in Middle/High School levels. Does NOT come with a license to teach. Will have to complete alternative licensure program either at UNM or CNM.
Mathematics of Computation Concentration
Computational Mathematics focuses on Math in the technological world. Requires a mandatory minor in Computer Science.
Pure Concentration Information
Mathematics is an intriguing discipline even without regard to applications outside mathematics, and pure mathematics emphasizes fundamental ideas in mathematics itself. The study of pure mathematics also can be excellent preparation for graduate study in all areas of mathematics and statistics, as well as being good pre-professional training for students wanting eventually to end up in law, medicine or other professions.
Career Opportunities
A general program that focuses on the analysis of quantities, magnitudes, forms, and their relationships, using symbolic logic and language. Includes instruction in algebra, calculus, functional analysis, geometry, number theory, logic, topology and other mathematical specializations.

為來自中國的學生設計 Secondary Education: Completion of the equivalent of an American upper secondary school education (approximately twelve years of formal education beginning at age six) and have the appropriate diplomas or satisfactory results on leaving examinations (if completed). Academic Preparation: Strong academic preparation or a U.S. equivalent grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants) or 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (for transfer students with the equivalent of 24 college credit hours). TOEFL (internet-based) 68, TOEFL (paper-based) 520, IELTS 6.0, Pearson Test of English 47.
