The Integrated BBA-Masters of Accountancy Program (BBA/MACCT) is designed for students interested in pursuing a BBA with a concentration in accounting and continuing their studies in advanced accounting, tax accounting, or information assurance to earn a Master of Accountancy (MACCT) degree. Students admitted to this program will be able to start taking graduate level courses in their senior year, will earn a BBA degree with a concentration in accounting and a MACCT degree, and will also meet the 150 hour requirement to take the CPA exam. Students who pursue this program will complete both degrees in fewer credits and reduce the cost of both degrees by paying undergraduate tuition for 6 credits of graduate coursework.
For the first three years of university study, the student pursues a normal program of undergraduate work. During the junior year of academic work, the student applies for admission to the M.Acct. program. In the senior year of academic work, the student begins the first year of the M.Acct. program and also completes the requirements for the undergraduate degree using specified graduate courses. In the final year of study, the student completes the second-year requirements and electives of the M.Acct. program.
Once admitted to this program, students take 6 credit hours of graduate level coursework that will go toward both BBA and MACCT degree requirements. Typically students use these graduate level courses toward their undergraduate free electives. After completion of the BBA degree, students will continue their studies at the graduate level in advanced accounting, tax accounting, or information assurance. All BBA/MACCT students must meet all of the undergraduate and graduate program academic and degree requirements.
