專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么? **Course overview**- How does the brain control our behaviour? How do brain disorders affect us? What about drugs…? If you want to specialise in physiological psychology, this is the course for you. It will prepare you for a career working with people with a range of needs - neurodegenerative diseases, tumours, strokes, traumatic brain injuries… For the first two years, you’ll study core areas of the British Psychological Society’s curriculum on this accredited course, with a specialist techniques in biopsychology module in Year 2. In Year 3, you’ll develop your neuropsychological skills further by choosing from topic and project options including biological treatments in psychiatry, memory disorders and clinical neuropsychology.- You can get involved in the research carried out by our staff, both as a participant and as a researcher, and not just through your classes and final year projects - there are paid research student internships and part-time research assistant positions available. You can also take part in conference talks, research publications and research grants - our current students regularly publish themselves, or become members of the editorial panel of ‘Diffusion’, UCLan’s own undergraduate research journal. - In the summer between Years 2 and 3, you may do a work placement, which can be particularly useful for those who have a clear idea of the career they want to pursue.- Some of our graduates pursue a career in psychology by undertaking postgraduate training to become professional psychologists, including our BPS-accredited Master’s programmes. However, UCLan graduates are valued more broadly, and others utilise the skills that our degree encourages to take graduate-level positions in a range of organisations, including the Police, Prison Service, NHS, social and community services, health authorities and in the pharmaceutical industry, and in education and training.**Why study with us**- As part of the course we pay for Student Membership of the BPS which provides you with their monthly magazine containing information on new developments in psychology and career opportunities .- You’ll graduate with a professionally recognised degree and be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society (BPS).- Take advantage of our flexible degree routes to graduate from the Psychology-related course you need for the career you want. As you progress through the course you can ensure that your final degree reflects your interests and aspirations.
