Overview
The University of Cincinnati’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nutrition & Dietetics - Coordinated Program has transitioned to the 5-year Accelerated Dietitian Nutritionist Program. This change reflects new Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accreditation standards. First-year students entering the University of Cincinnati in Fall 2020 and beyond should enroll in either the Nutrition & Dietetics – Community Nutrition or Nutrition & Dietetics – Sports Nutrition program and then apply to complete the Accelerated Dietitian Nutritionist Program in the Spring semester of their sophomore year.
The last class of juniors to enter UC’s Coordinated Program will be in 2021.
The Coordinated Program in Dietetics allows students to complete the training necessary to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). This training includes two components: didactic (academic) coursework in dietetics and supervised practice experience. The program is a coordinated program in that students learn about different aspects of nutrition and dietetics practice in the classroom and then apply their acquired knowledge and skills in supervised practice rotations in clinical, community, food service and a variety of other settings.
