Overview
CCM’s Bachelor of Music in Harpsichord offers students the opportunity to hone technical expertise, musicianship and knowledge in the center of Cincinnati, a next-generation city revered for the arts. Prestigious faculty, performance opportunities and location in one of the country’s premier cities for the arts make this program the perfect choice for harpsichordists looking to maximize their talents and gain an incomparable musical and academic education.
The performance-based curriculum includes weekly private lessons with faculty mentors, chamber music coaching and many opportunities to gain hands-on experience. Students become familiar with a range of repertoire by rehearsing and performing with multiple ensembles and presenting at least one solo recital. Students applying to the program should have a basic familiarity with figured bass continuo.
In addition to unparalleled performance opportunities, BM Harpsichord students complete an intensive study of classical music literature and music theory and work closely with their faculty mentors, gaining the aptitude and experience to perform professionally. Our faculty of eminent artist-teachers offer students one-on-one attention and opportunities to perform in the tri-state region and around the world.
Students graduating from our program will be prepared for careers in chamber music, private teaching and solo performance by learning both the traditional repertoire and modern music composed for the harpsichord. Graduates of the program often continue on to advanced study.
CCM is a college within the University of Cincinnati, a major undergraduate university and graduate research institution of more than 40,000 students. 為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Student need to have: Graduation from an accredited high school of preparatory school; Successful completion of 16 units of college-preparatory subjects: English (4 units); biology and chemistry (2 units); college-prep mathematics (3 units); social sciences (2 units) fine arts (1 unit); additional college preparatory subjects (4 units). Recommended: foreign language, anatomy and physiology or a third unit in social science with a grade of C or better in all required courses; Recommended minimum high school GPA of 3.0; Completed application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.
