Global companies compete in a challenging business economy. This requires the need for business professionals who possess a combination of business and international skills. Formal international management education gives students cultural training, a comprehensive understanding of global and regional economies, and a socio-political analysis of multiple regions. Graduates of the international business program at the UC Carl H. Lindner College of Business are positioned to be highly sought, especially for companies with overseas assignments.
Success
Individuals who are attracted to international business are those who are able to accept and work within the culture, customs and attitudes of another country. They must be flexible and be able to adapt to change and unexpected situations, some of which are beyond their control. Other attributes include: Excellent oral, written and electronic communication capabilities, Ability to take risks, Strong initiative and goal-driven qualities, Organizational skills, Analytical problem solving, Leadership skills, Competence in decision-making, Capacity for teamwork, Ability to multi-task.
Career
The international business major provides a gateway to jobs in the global economy. Combining this major with a finance major leads to opportunities in international finance and banking. Coupling international business with a major in information systems, marketing or operations management can provide the experience to make graduates attractive for international assignment opportunities.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Student need to have: Graduation from an accredited high school of preparatory school; Successful completion of 16 units of college-preparatory subjects: English (4 units); biology and chemistry (2 units); college-prep mathematics (3 units); social sciences (2 units) fine arts (1 unit); additional college preparatory subjects (4 units). Recommended: foreign language, anatomy and physiology or a third unit in social science with a grade of C or better in all required courses; Recommended minimum high school GPA of 3.0; Completed application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.
