Economics is poised at the intersection between social science and business, and has great relevance for a wide range of public policy issues. The business economics program at the UC Carl H. Lindner College of Business combines the study of both economics and business, providing a strong theoretical and professional combination. Traditional economics courses prepare students to collect and analyze data, monitor economic trends and develop forecasts essential to the ability of business firms to maximize profits and provide the quantity of goods or services that consumers will demand at a certain price. The program includes general education requirements as well as basic courses in all business disciplines, economics and career exploration and development.
Success
Business economics majors typically possess (or are willing to develop) the strong analytical skills necessary for interpreting and evaluating arguments. Most like to read and are successful when asked to work independently. Business economics students are critical thinkers who enjoy vigorous in-class discussions and like to apply their learning to real-world problems as well as to theoretical concerns. Consequently, they enjoy researching and debating different points of view on wide-ranging issues involving public affairs.
Career
Many students choose to further their studies in graduate school, especially in business and law schools. Career possibilities for students who graduate with a major in business economics include: Entry-level positions in line management, Staff positions in fields such as operations research; labor and employment relations; sales and marketing; and banking and finance, Foreign Service employee, Public utility corporation worker, Government.

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 Student need to have: Graduation from an accredited high school of preparatory school; Successful completion of 16 units of college-preparatory subjects: English (4 units); biology and chemistry (2 units); college-prep mathematics (3 units); social sciences (2 units) fine arts (1 unit); additional college preparatory subjects (4 units). Recommended: foreign language, anatomy and physiology or a third unit in social science with a grade of C or better in all required courses; Recommended minimum high school GPA of 3.0; Completed application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.
