The Nutritional Sciences concentration provides a unique nutrition-focused pathway for students majoring in Health Sciences who are interested in learning more about the important relationship between nutrition, exercise, and wellness. This program is one of the few in the country to offer a degree that merges the areas of fitness and nutrition into one major. The Nutritional Sciences concentration allows you to consider how the areas are interrelated and how best to educate individuals, communities and entire populations to improve overall health and wellness.

Upon graduation, students will be well prepared for a career in the growing health and wellness industry. A degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences will provide a wide variety of career opportunities such as: Health and wellness ; Weight management; Education and research; Community fitness and health; Business and industry; Public and private recreation; Media.
Graduate Education Opportunities
The scientific foundation of the Nutritional Sciences concentration within the Health Sciences major will allow students to pursue graduate degrees in a variety of science-based graduate programs. With the selection of the appropriate level of coursework, students can apply for graduate programs in the following areas: Nutritional Sciences program (MS); Physical Therapy program (DPT); Occupational Therapy program (MOT); Athletic Training program (MSAT); Health Promotion or Public Health programs (MA, MS, or PhD); Exercise Physiology or Biomechanics programs (MS or PhD); Health Administration or Informatics programs (MHA or MHI).
Students can work with their academic advisor to determine which courses are required for entry into each graduate program. Many graduates can work in or start small businesses in fitness and health or work in facilities that offer organized programs for people who want to maintain or improve their overall health and wellness. Students can earn certifications to become a fitness trainer, which would pair well with the nutrition and exercise coursework.

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Student need to have: Graduation from an accredited high school of preparatory school; Successful completion of 16 units of college-preparatory subjects: English (4 units); biology and chemistry (2 units); college-prep mathematics (3 units); social sciences (2 units) fine arts (1 unit); additional college preparatory subjects (4 units). Recommended: foreign language, anatomy and physiology or a third unit in social science with a grade of C or better in all required courses; Recommended minimum high school GPA of 3.0; Completed application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.
