Our Single Honours programme will give you the theoretical tools and the practical skills to process such data and apply appropriate techniques to extract meaningful information. This will create a new value chain, enabling businesses to gain insight from their data and improve their processes.Our programme is designed as a balanced blend of mathematics, statistics and computer science, tailored to understand the business context of AI and data science applications. You will study fundamental statistical techniques alongside modern software development methods applicable in areas of business such as finance and econometrics. You will also explore the ethical, psychological and social aspects of such applications.In our cutting-edge computing laboratories, you will have the opportunity to apply your learning immediately using real-world datasets. You will undertake significant hands-on projects, including a final year data science dissertation led by academics with research specialties in artificial intelligence, big data and statistical modelling. You will also have the option to take modules that cover advanced technical topics such as game theory, or international finance, as well as academic research, and practical problem-solving in order to become a skilled professional able to manage data complexity in a field in high demand, both in industry and research.Between years two and three of your studies, you will also have the opportunity to take a placement year, or year abroad to broaden your experience.Dubbed the career of the future, demand for data scientists in the business sector continues to grow apace. From programming in Python and R, through to working knowledge of econometrics, accounting, and corporate and international finance Keele's programme delivers the necessary skills to choose a pathway through this career with confidence.Graduates can go on to work in diverse industries, primarily within the finance and business sectors, including business intelligence and e-commerce, but also in healthcare, transport, as well as further academic study. Additional experience of research and self-directed learning gives our students the broader abilities needed to respond to the latest developments in this fast-changing field in the years ahead.Our Data Science degree is also great preparation for employment in related fields including consultancy, software development, accountancy, engineering and teaching.

ABB-BBC courses = Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate with 80% overall plus Gaokao with 75%; BCC-CCC courses = Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate with 75% overall plus Gaokao with 70%; Applicants to courses with a subject specific requirement will be considered on an individual basis. OR an appropriate pre-university/ foundation year programme. IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each subtest.
