This is because it’s more than green and lovely, it’s a place of research and academic excellence too.You’ll develop deep understanding of the complex chemical and biological processes involved in the design and manufacture of drugs and other therapiesfor treating disease. This course prepares you to help solve problems at the intersection of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology and pharmacology.Practical Chemistry is taught in state of the art teaching laboratories and staff have direct experience of working in pharmaceutical companies and can therefore challenge you to develop the rigorous and demanding scientific approach that the industry expects. The goal of medicinal chemistry is to support the search for new drugs to treat conditions such as heart disease, obesity and cancer. You’ll work in well-equipped laboratories and be taught by a team of engaging academics who deliver a course that consistently achieves excellent levels of student satisfaction. In your final year you will undertake a research project and learn how to conduct effective independent research. Keele also offers support to find a summer industrial or research placement in Year 2. You’ll develop essential skills for employment, such as problem solving, presentation and communication.The British Pharmaceutical Industry is at the forefront of global pharmaceutical development and is the UK’s largest manufacturing exporter. Our Medicinal Chemistry graduates have excellent employment prospects, whether at the cutting edge of drug discovery or in a wide range of related fields. For example you might go to work for a pharmaceutical company, either as a research scientist or in a more business related role. Alternatively, you might work as a developmentchemist taking lead drug compounds through to a manufacturing scale or an analytical chemist profiling the metabolites of a potential drug.

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have for Undergraduate Year 1: Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate PLUS Gaokao. ABB-BBC courses = Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate with 80% overall plus Gaokao with 75%; BCC-CCC courses = Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate with 75% overall plus Gaokao with 70%; Applicants to courses with a subject specific requirement will be considered on an individual basis. OR an appropriate pre-university/ foundation year programme. IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each subtest.
