Overview
People are an organisation’s most important asset; maximising their potential is key to a business’ success. On this course, you will learn how you can play a key role in developing, reinforcing and changing the culture of an organisation through effective management of human resources and creation of sound business strategy.
In-depth study of practice and contemporary theories will equip you with an advanced knowledge of management principles in business and HR. We will take the study of management and organisations from its historical roots to the present day, and, using real-life examples, we will teach you to critically analyse organisational development and the possible consequences on human resource management.
The international aspect to the course allows you to explore the complexities of management within organisations that operate and trade across multiple countries, and gain an understanding of management in a global context. Learn how to look at company accounts from both the shareholder and the company perspectives, and discover the importance of organisational culture and identity. You will also evaluate the impact that external affairs can have on organisational strategy and behaviour.
Teaching and assessment
Teaching will be delivered through formal lectures, informal seminars, tutorials, workshops, discussions, and e-learning packages. You may also benefit from inspirational guest speakers, who will bring their own personal experiences and knowledge to your learning.
Assessment will usually be through a combination of individual and group work, presentations, essays, reports and exams. In addition, a particular feature of the course will be to take part in a state-of-the-art, computer driven business simulation exercise, which will integrate many aspects of your learning and development.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Students should have a four year Chinese Bachelor’s degree with 70% for courses requiring a 2:2 classification, and 75% for courses requiring a 2:1 classification. Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, work experience or require you to have a degree in a related field. IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent.
