The Master of Science in Information Technology and Management (MS ITM) degree program consists of basic business courses, IT foundation courses, IT elective courses and other electives. The business courses give students a better understanding of issues that occur at the interface between IT and business. The IT foundation courses cover the essentials of IT. The IT elective courses provide in-depth knowledge of technology and technology management issues. In addition, students may select approved electives that maximize their goals.
The features that set the UT Dallas MS ITM program apart are the breadth and depth of the curriculum and its flexibility. The curriculum offers electives in relevant IT topics, and many of these courses are offered in the evening. Also, many courses are offered online to provide maximum flexibility. Since there is no difference in content between online and on-campus classes, students can mix online and on-campus courses to satisfy the degree requirements.
For students who are unable to attend any on-campus classes, the program is available online.
The program also offers opportunities for students with special interests to concentrate in a specific track within the IT area, such as business intelligence and analytics, enterprise systems, cyber security management, IT consulting and services management or healthcare systems.
This is a STEM designated program.
Career Options
Graduates of the program seek positions such as: IT Manager; Information Systems Analyst, and other IT positions in various industries.
