This innovative master's course provides you with the skills to contribute to the design and development of big data systems as well as distributed / internet-enabled decision support application software systems. We focus on modern engineering methods, tools and techniques, including data analytics, machine learning, business intelligence, data mining. You will also have the opportunity to learn programming languages such as Hadoop, Python, and R. Our software engineering approach to building applications helps you to develop a life-cycle view of software development.
Drawing on our research excellence in this area, this innovative course in big data and business intelligence is designed to give you a competitive advantage in this fast-growing business domain. This course is accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT: Partial CITP and Partial CEng (Further Learning). An accredited degree entitles you to professional membership of BCS.
Graduates from the MSc Big Data and Business Intelligence course are equipped for employment in industry, commerce or research with a proficiency in the key theoretical and practical areas of big data systems development.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) For entry to our Master's programmes, you will need to have met the following: Achieving four year Bachelor with a minimum of 70% for UK 2.2 or with a minimum of 80% for UK 2.1. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. For some postgraduate taught courses, you need: IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
