Our master of science in information science and technology will teach you how to design, develop and apply information systems in organizations and businesses.
The research will be integrated into your classroom experience, with specially equipped labs and classrooms like our Laboratory for Information Technology and Evaluation (LITE) available to support research studies like human-computer interaction and enterprise resource planning. A number of computing languages and special-purpose software will be at your disposal, as will the most advanced and high-end technology in information systems research, including our department's EEG headsets, Leap Motion Controller, Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and Tobii eye trackers.
Our masters in IST is available in two options with and without a thesis.
- The thesis track requires the completion of 24 hours of graduate course work (5000-level or above), six hours of research and the successful completion and defense of a research thesis.
- The non-thesis track requires the completion of 30 hours of graduate course work (5000-level and above). Courses below the 5000-level will not count toward your degree, even if they are taken to fulfill prerequisites.

For this requirement, a cumulative B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale), or a B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the student’s last sixty credit hours of undergraduate coursework is considered equivalent to an upper one-third standing. English Language Requirement: TOEFL: 80; IELTS: 6.5; PTE: 58; Duolingo: 105.
