Interested in crime scene investigation? We have a double major degree that allows you to combine forensic knowledge with a second major in fields such as psychology, criminology, social work, visual arts and many other combinations. You will learn about state-of-the-art forensic technologies, investigative methods and the criminal justice system. Your second major provides the flexibility to tailor your degree to prepare you for your future career.
Sample Courses: History of Crime, Forensic Anthropology, Introduction to Crime Scene Investigation, Crime Scene Evidence Analysis, Expert Witness in Forensic Science, Forensic Serology and DNA Applications
FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE
- Appropriately handling, packaging, and recording relevant details of crime scene artifacts
- Taking careful original measurements based on established practices and regulations
- Operating advanced scientific laboratory equipment and instruments
- Understanding chemical/molecular/biological properties in terms of their relevance to forensic science
- Integrating legal considerations into specific scientific fields with an emphasis on adhering to stringent ethical standards
- Understanding legal structures and the organization of the criminal justice system from historical, sociological, and legal perspectives
- Implementing appropriate techniques for studying material evidence
Career Tracks: Crime scene officer, border services officer, behaviour profiler, Internet security analyst, forensic psychologist.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) All programs require successful completion of the OSS Diploma and a minimum 70% average of six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U. English Language Requirements: A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or A minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL); or A minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); or A minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); or Successful completion of the University of Windsor's English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) (level III) with a minimum final grade of 75%; or A minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); or A minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.).
