Healthcare reform centers on moving from reimbursement based on the number and types of services to paying for the outcome(s) of those services and assuming financial risk for the health of defined populations.
These significant and far-reaching changes require different financial, operating, and analytical systems, cultures, and leadership skills.
Leadership of healthcare organizations must therefore become increasingly proficient in clinical and administrative skills, as well as in leading effective teamwork between units that focus on one or the other.
The EMHA requires 45 hours of course credit and is typically achieved in two years. Courses are taught one at a time by experienced faculty on Iowa City and Des Moines campuses and supplemented by online resources. The teaching approach is case- and team-focused, with typically three courses in the Spring and Fall semesters and one course both Summer semesters.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a Regionally Accredited American College or University, or an equivalent degree from another country; A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00, or the foreign equivalent. English Language Requirements: IELTS score of 7.0, with no subscore less than 6.0; PTE minimum score of 68 with no subscore less than 58; TOEFL scores below 100; a score of 550 or higher on the paper-based (PBT) version of the test, or a score of 81 or higher on the Internet-based version of the test (iBT).
