The Bachelor of Arts with a major in elementary education requires a minimum of 120 s.h., including at least 81 s.h. of credit for the major. Students must complete all requirements for the elementary education major and the Teacher Education Program (TEP), including student teaching. Students also must complete the GE CLAS Core.
The B.A. program prepares students to teach kindergarten through grade 6. In Iowa, the elementary specialization areas are designated as kindergarten through grade 8.
