Overview
This programme is aimed at qualified doctors with clinical experience, providing a tailored training component accompanying student doctoral research.
Strong links between clinicians and the University are already in place and the student will develop their research questions with their clinical line manager and university supervisor(s) before undertaking appropriate experimental laboratory and/or clinical work to answer these and produce a thesis of novel publishable work.
The programme enables the student, with the support of the University and clinical supervisors, to ensure that all of the necessary skills to be an excellent researcher can be acquired.
Areas in which the University has particular strength are drug discovery (particularly cancer), diseases of the skin, and vascular disease.
Learning and assessment
The award of MD will be granted following the successful completion of a scientific research study conducted in the laboratories of the University of Bradford.
Successful completion will be evidenced by a written thesis or publications and defence of the scientific work at viva voce.
Early progression in this award will be evidenced by a written review of the scientific and clinical literature of publishable quality within 4-6 months of registration for the award of MD.
Students will have a minimum of two University academic supervisors and one clinical supervisor.
Career prospects
The Doctorate in Medicine degree is likely to be the basis for a clinical academic career, but it also provides an advantage to employability in any area of professional activity through access to more generic training.
Since a doctoral programme is highly specialised, it offers students a unique opportunity to gain internationally recognised expertise on a specific topic.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) For first class degree classification students need to have bachelors degree with 85%; For 2:1 degree classification students need to have 80% and for 2:2 degree classification students need to have 70% are considered. You will need to achieve an Overall Band score of at least 6.0*, with at least 5.0 in each of the four sub-tests (speaking, listening, reading, writing) or 5.5 in each of the sub-tests if you require a Tier 4 visa.
