The Master's in Mathematics, at Aberystwyth University, uncovers a fascinating and challenging discipline that combines the identification and analysis of shapes and patterns with data collation and calculation.

Studying this MMath option provides considerably more access to specialist areas of Mathematics and in your final year, you will undertake short research projects with a lecturer, allied to your particular mathematical or statistical interests.

What will I learn?
The breakdown below provides an illustration of what you might study during the four year degree scheme.
- In your first year you will explore topics in algebra and calculus, geometry and differential equations, probability and statistics, and mathematical analysis.
- In your second and third years you will be able to choose from a range of modules on topics which might include analysis and partial differential equations, abstract and linear algebra, statistical modelling and mechanics.
- In your final year, you will undertake short research projects with a member of staff, allied to your particular mathematical or statistical interests, as well as choosing taught courses from our list of optional modules.
