The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Exceptional Children and Youth degree program is designed to develop professional educators committed to careers that involve children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Graduates are prepared to work as special education teachers, education consultants, and educational technology specialists.
The traditional degree only track is appropriate for teachers with a teaching certificate in either general or special education who wish to develop advanced knowledge and skills. The degree track also may be suitable for individuals who are not teachers but have other experience in the disabilities field and wish to pursue an advanced degree only. For previously certified teachers, the traditional degree track also may be a path to a second certificate in special education.
The degree plus initial certification track, Master’s Plus Certification Program (MPCP), is appropriate for individuals who seek to acquire advanced knowledge and skills while also obtaining their first teaching certificate.
The University of Delaware’s online M.Ed. in Exceptional Children and Youth (Special Education) is designed to develop professional educators committed to careers that involve children, youth, and adults with disabilities. This program is appropriate for teachers with a teaching certificate in either general or special education who wish to develop advanced knowledge and skills. The program may also be appropriate for individuals who are not teachers but have other experience in the disability field and wish to pursue an advanced degree only.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants to a University of Delaware graduate program must possess (or be in the final year of completing) a U.S. equivalent bachelor’s degree. The University requires an official paper-based TOEFL score of at least 550 or at least 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) for an applicant to be considered for admission. The University expects a minimum score of 18 on the Internet-based Speaking Test. IELTS score - 6.5.
