There is a famous saying by famed ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau that reads, “The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net forever.” And our marine science students feel the same.
Covering over two thirds of our planet means that the bulk of life here on Earth is contained in the ocean, and many of Earth’s major processes are connected to its physical properties. Marine science blends marine biology, oceanography, geology, policy and environmental management and graduates from this major are sought after to seek solutions to some of our most pressing environmental challenges--climate change, ocean acidification, sustainable fisheries, habitat conservation, ocean pollution and more!
