About the course
If you're an Advanced Nurse or a member of a related profession wishing to study colonoscopy and endoscopy practice to progress your career as an independent practitioner, this is the course for you.
Colonoscopy is becoming a growth area for nurses who wish to expand their scope of practice. As a practitioner, you have the opportunity to work in a wide variety of settings to develop advanced skills.
You will learn skills and knowledge, empowering you to perform advanced therapeutic procedures and plan, perform and develop care which addresses patient health care needs within gastroenterology.
What you'll study
You will undertake a variety of modules. These include a research module and specialist module which are offered as an online programme via eBridge. The final 60 credits for the MSc are gained by completing a dissertation around the subject of colonoscopy.
The majority of learning can be done online meaning that you can fit your studies around work and life commitments. You need only attend University for the set workshops which are available to support each module. The modules themselves are delivered using weekly tasks addressing the advanced issues around the subject of practice.
Future prospects
This programme enables you to become a competent, safe and motivated practitioner in the field of gastroenterology, with professional attitudes, values and perspectives.
It aims to produce enthusiastic, reflective and analytical thinkers who can interpret theory and apply it to their professional practice to provide high-quality patient-centred care in the endoscopy setting.

We generally consider Bachelor degree awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in China to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree. Lower second-class (2.2) equivalen - Overall grade of 70%. We may be able to accept a minimum grade of 65% if you have studied at a prestigious University as defined by the Ministry of Education. Upper second-class (2.1) equivalent - Overall grade of 75 %. We may be able to accept a minimum grade of 70% if you have studied at a prestigious University as defined by the Ministry of Education. International English Language Testing System (IELTS)- Academic Test (all test centres) 6.0 overall (with a minimum 5.5 in each skill) 5.5 overall with 5.5 in each skill accepted for entry to degrees with integrated foundation year.
