History is the ongoing effort to understand the diverse people, institutions, and cultures of the past. Historical inquiry builds knowledge of past events and in doing so helps inform the decisions we make about our future. At WSU, faculty specialize in many areas of historical research and teaching, including environmental, world, American west, religious, gender, military, and diplomatic history.

(We may consider the first year or two of university in some countries to be secondary level). Schooling should include preparation in humanities, mathematics, basic sciences, and social sciences. WSU requires a minimum grade point average of 2.70 (on a 4.00 scale) for admission as an international freshman. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - Minimum Score 213 computer-based (CBT); 79 internet-based (iBT); 550 paper-based (PBT); IELTS – 6.5; MELAB – 77.
