The major in broadcast news focuses on writing, reporting, anchoring, and producing newscasts and to shoot, edit, and produce news for radio, television, and online media.
You will become immersed in the journalism and multimedia production world through classroom and extracurricular opportunities. The degree focuses on developing reporting, editing and producing skills across all media platforms
You’ll also gain proficiency in the use of professional digital editing technologies and professional-level radio and television studios. All majors acquire a thorough understanding of the legal requirements and ethical implications of journalism and media production.
Graduates with this degree pursue careers in radio, television, newspapers, and multimedia news and media production in the Pacific Northwest and around the world.

(We may consider the first year or two of university in some countries to be secondary level). Schooling should include preparation in humanities, mathematics, basic sciences, and social sciences. WSU requires a minimum grade point average of 2.70 (on a 4.00 scale) for admission as an international freshman. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - Minimum Score 213 computer-based (CBT); 79 internet-based (iBT); 550 paper-based (PBT); IELTS – 6.5; MELAB – 77.
