The major in science communication focuses on public understanding of science, technology, and the environment, as well as skills in effective and innovative communication of complex and controversial science issues.
Courses in the major focus on practical, hands-on learning. They cover the dynamics of organizational and cultural communication, including conflict management, socialization, group dynamics, decision-making processes, multicultural/multinational workplaces, communication theory, and emerging technology.

The major also includes four elective courses of your choice. This gives you room to customize the major to your own strengths and goals.

A major in science communication opens a wide range of career options.
Graduates of this program are uniquely prepared for careers in human resources, community/international development, community relations and mediation, cultural and diversity needs assessment, international education programs, customer relations, sales/account representation, employee relations, management, training and development, political organizing, and international mediation, among others.
A communication degree is also good preparation for graduate professional programs such as law school and doctoral programs.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Student needs to complete at least 12 years of school, culminating in an appropriate secondary certificate or external examination. (We may consider the first year or two of university in some countries to be secondary level). Schooling should include preparation in humanities, mathematics, basic sciences, and social sciences. WSU requires a minimum grade point average of 2.70 (on a 4.00 scale) for admission as an international freshman. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - Minimum Score 213 computer-based (CBT); 79 internet-based (iBT); 550 paper-based (PBT); IELTS – 6.5; MELAB – 77.
