Introduction
Language Studies is an interdisciplinary major offered by the Linguistics Department. It is designed to equip students with competence in one foreign language and, at the same time, provide an understanding of the general nature of human language, its structure and use in particular.
Study and Research Opportunities: B.A. and minor with concentrations in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish; Opportunities to study abroad through Programs Abroad.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) To be considered for admission to UC Santa Cruz, international students must be on track to complete secondary school with superior grades/marks in academic subjects and to earn a certificate of completion that enables the student to be admitted to a university in their home country. Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test.
