The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is expanding its research program in Conservation Science. This expansion includes multiple new tenure-line faculty who have joined the department and consolidates existing strengths on our campus. Much of our work is fundamentally interdisciplinary, based around a partnership approach with conservation practitioners from different sectors, and our projects are both national and international in focus.
As we grow this research program, we seek applications from prospective graduate students in conservation science. We seek outstanding students interested in either pursuing a Ph.D. or research-based Masters. We have sufficient funding available to admit a strong cohort of students. While we encourage students to pursue independent funding opportunities, EEB’s policy is to admit students only when we are confident we will have funding support available for them for the full duration of their studies.
Students trained in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of Tennessee will demonstrate a core knowledge in ecology and evolution. Training will prepare students to pursue careers such as professional ecologists and evolutionary biologists at institutes of higher education, national laboratories, and private industries; land managers; conservation biologists; and bioinformaticians.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting agency, recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEEA). A non-U.S.?degree must be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from the United States and must be granted by a recognized or accredited foreign institution. United States degree holders must have earned a minimum of 2.7 out of a possible 4.0 GPA or a minimum of 3.0 during the senior year of undergraduate study. If you have completed previous graduate coursework, you must have earned a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 GPA. Minimum score requirements for admission to the Graduate School are: a total score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), a 6.5 overall band score on the IELTS.
