Law with a global focus
Globalisation is increasingly affecting modern law practice and it is imperative that legal professionals develop the expertise and forward-thinking mindset required to specialise in the international arena. The Master of Laws (International Law) will allow you to examine elements of international legal systems which affect Australian law practice, providing you with the skills and professional responsibilities to operate as an international lawyer. Regardless of whether you’re based overseas or in Australia, understanding foreign bodies of rules and regulations such as the European Union is crucial to elevating your law career.
The flexible course structure in the Master of Laws may give you the opportunity to select either a second specialisation, or an additional four courses from those listed below.
- Commercial Law
- Comparative Law
- Public Law
- Sustainable Development
A significant component of your degree will be research-based. You will become proficient in legal research, advanced legal writing and critical thinking through a series of guided research projects. Should you wish to complete a doctoral degree, the Master of Laws (International Law) is an ideal pathway.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have Australian university three or four-year Bachelor degree in an approved discipline, or equivalent. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.5 (or better)(no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based) score of 570 (with a minimum Test of Written English score TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 230 (with an essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 58 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 58); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)/ C1 Advanced or Proficiency (CPE)/C2 Proficiency with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.
