Explore international legal systems
With the increased globalisation of world trade and the necessity to conduct business in unfamiliar legal systems, there has never been a more appropriate time to undertake postgraduate studies in Comparative Law. As part of this specialisation, you will examine the global trend towards harmonisation of laws, as well as impacts and changes within the European Union affecting current legal practice in Australia.
The flexible course structure in the Master of Laws may give you the opportunity to select either a second specialisation, or an additional four courses from those listed below.
- Commercial Law
- International Law
- Public Law
- Sustainable Development
A significant component of your degree will be research-based. You will become proficient in legal research, advanced legal writing and critical thinking through a series of guided research projects. Should you wish to complete a doctoral degree, the Master of Laws (Comparative Law) is an ideal pathway.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have Australian university three or four-year Bachelor degree in an approved discipline, or equivalent. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.5 (or better)(no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based) score of 570 (with a minimum Test of Written English score TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 230 (with an essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 58 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 58); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)/ C1 Advanced or Proficiency (CPE)/C2 Proficiency with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.
