USQ’s Bachelor of Information Technology (Information Technology Management) is a career-oriented degree designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you will need to work in ICT - a sector worth 4.6% of Australia’s GDP. You will start your specialization in your first year and have numerous opportunities to put your learning into practice through an industry-based learning experience or project. You also have the option to choose a second major from a range of business, commerce and science courses to shape the career you want and to strengthen your position.
Why Information Technology Management?
The use of information technology in the success of a business is varied, from electronic commerce, database design and implementation, security, network management, service management and enterprise resource systems.
Australia’s ICT sector is primarily focused on providing computer and telecommunication services, as well as hardware sales and service. The emphasis of this specialization will give you the skills and knowledge to solve business problems using information technology. You will be the person who runs projects, manages staff, and uses your IT knowledge to improve the success of the business.
Through your studies you will learn the skills and knowledge to help you seek industry certification such as ITIL (ISO 20000), Oracle and SAP.

Our Bachelor of Information Technology program is accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and, through the Seoul Accord, is recognised in other countries.
Career outcomes
The industry is currently experiencing a shortage of qualified Australian ICT graduates, especially in the field of business analysts and project managers. As a graduate, you will be qualified to seek career opportunities as a business analyst, systems analyst, data architect, business process/data modeler, enterprise resource planning (ERP) analyst, computer trainer/support, IT manager, IT sales and marketing specialist, change manager, business process engineer, IT project manager, consultant, business continuity (BCM) specialist or IT security specialist.
Some of the biggest employers of ICT graduates in Australia are international IT vendors, including Microsoft and IBM, and ICT end-users such as banks and government departments.

Applications are based on comparisons with Australian Year 12 level examinations. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
