Master of Science (MS) in Epidemiology
Advance your training in epidemiological research and clinical epidemiology with our master’s degree.
You will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to design and conduct studies into the causation, distribution, control and prevention of diseases.
Personalize Your Course of Study
Within the program, there are options to personalize your course of study.
An epidemiology concentration where you can explore cancer, cardiovascular disease, environmental, infectious disease, nutritional, molecular and genetic epidemiology.
A clinical research specialized track
The specialized clinical research track within the MS program provides you with the skills and knowledge to design and conduct independent clinical research.
The program is designed to be rigorous yet flexible with individualized training so you can concentrate course electives in the discipline of your research focus such as pharmacy, nursing, dentistry or medicine.
Collaboration throughout UB and with Roswell Park Cancer Institute
Our department offers the master’s program in collaboration with faculty throughout the university, and with the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control in Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Graduate Division.
Career Opportunities
With a master’s in epidemiology, your career path could include working as a researcher, clinical investigator, research administrator, planner, program manager, educator or evaluator. The settings for these positions include academia, health departments, governmental health agencies, medical centers and hospitals, clinical practices and private corporations. The program also prepares you for continuing your education as a doctoral or medical student.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
