This STEM program focuses on synthetic and natural materials in biomedical engineering and dentistry. Courses and research provide comprehensive knowledge of and experience with materials, focusing on biomolecular and cellular interactions with medical/dental implants, device design, regulatory requirements, and surgical requirements. Applicants to this program typically include biologists, engineers, chemists and clinicians. Graduates of the program work as biomedical scientists and engineers in industry and as academic clinicians. Other graduates enter PhD research training in related fields or pursue post-graduate clinical training.
One of the few biomaterials graduate programs in the world, this interdisciplinary masters degree program focuses on the use of synthetic and natural materials in biomedical engineering, dentistry and environmental engineering. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a unique dental ceramics training specialization.

Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
