The M.S. in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Program offers students the freedom to design a specialized graduate curriculum, gain advanced training in research methods and complete a capstone research project. Candidates combine research in a core social science concentration with related course work in a second social and behavioral science discipline, including Anthropology, Communicative Disorders and Sciences, Economics, Geography, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and/or Sociology.
The specific program of study for each student is determined in consultation with the Director and faculty adviser. Students are required to complete 33 credit hours of graduate level work consisting of:
- 15 credit hours in an area of concentration selected from Social Sciences department, including at least one graduate course in research methods or statistics.
- 15 credit hours in courses in a second area of Social Sciences. With prior approval up to six of these credit hours may be in an area of the Humanities, Natural Sciences or a Professional School.
- 3 credit hours of project guidance.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
